Finishes
Gem Coat
The standard finish for our island and cart bases is Gemini Gem Coat lacquer. It is a furniture grade system, which is extremely durable with excellent water and chemical resistance. It is a water clear product, which means it is highly resistant to yellowing. This product is formulated to meet or exceed federal 680 VOC (volatile organic compound) regulations, and passes KCMA (Kitchen cabinet manufactures association) and ASTM (a world wide standards association) performance requirements.

Since all of our blocks and boards are made to be used we coat our tops with BLOX Oil. Oiled tops are the most traditional finish for cutting surfaces. This is a proprietary blend of mineral oil and beeswax. The addition of beeswax to mineral oil gives our product a better water resistance and a tougher finish. Oiled tops require maintenance and need to be re-oiled from time to time. This product meets or exceeds US FDA regulations for direct food contact.
16 oz BLOX oil $12.95 (buy now)
