What do you do with a carpenter who loves to cook and prepare food for friends and family. Open a restaurant? Write a cookbook? Probably not, but you could get him to make beautiful and unique kitchen furniture. My love of cooking is only outdone by my true love of making beautiful things out of wood with my hands. I recall a conversation with my Dad nearly 30 years ago when I informed him that I was changing my college major to Finance. Dad, a man of few words, said to me, “I always thought you would do something with your hands”. Throughout the years, that short conversation has never left me. You don’t always get to pick your career, sometimes your career picks you. The latter was definitely my case.

The early 80’s found me managing a 10,000 acre ranch in the Texas hill country. After several years on the ranch, I decided I needed to get my wife and newborn child into a less remote environment. Since I have always worked with wood as a hobby, I lined up some work at a local cabinet shop and later as a handyman. My career as a carpenter, and ultimately a general contractor began.

Eventually, after several years of remodeling kitchens, bathrooms and building homes, I started to look for a more creative venture. Having always dabbled with making furniture, friends and family encouraged me to make the leap and follow my passion working with fine wood.

Today in a small town in Central Texas, in my shop that lies on the banks of Brushy Creek, I apply my craft to create the beautiful butcher block islands, carts, and cutting boards you will find on this web site.

Each product is still produced by hand with dedication to the quality and uniqueness of each piece.
